What is the Special Education Programme for Children?
Children with special needs aged seven years and above may progress to Special Education (SPED) schools to continue on with their learning journey. SPED teachers take over the reins in guiding and bridging the learning gaps for these children with a myriad of physical and intellectual disabilities. With a passion and love for nurturing young minds, these children can grow up to enjoy equal opportunities in the future.

What do SPED teachers do?
The role of the SPED teacher involves designing and developing specialised lessons plans to help the students cope and learn at a comfortable pace. Teachers work in close partnership with allied health professionals, social workers, psychologists, families and the community to help students attain learning objectives. Through the customised lesson plans and provision of proper guidance and assessment of students’ performance, the teachers help these students develop to their fullest potential and enhance their quality of life.
