With a host of materials including a handbook, a professional development guide, toolkits, frameworks and videos, we provide you with all the information you need to develop a detailed Career Development and Progression pathways for your staff to reach their fullest potential.

(A) National Social Work Competency Framework (NSWCF)

The competency framework for social workers cuts across all fields of practice, including social service and healthcare, lists the knowledge, skills and behavioural attributes required at different job levels, and maps out possible career pathways.

Complementary to the above, NCSS has produced a two part video series to further guide social work professionals in making a resolute decision in their career path. The first part of the video illustrates the key components of the NSWCF, which provides an insight into (a) Practice Tracks for Social Workers, (b) Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs), (c) Knowledge and Skill Competencies, and (d) Behavioural Competencies required of a social worker. This video should be viewed in conjunction with the second video on ‘My Career – A Professional Development Guide’ for a better understanding of how you can develop your profession as a social worker.
