Community Chest and Partners Collaborate to Remove Barriers for People with Disabilities

Persons with disabilities face many types of barriers, one of which are physical barriers. The event theme, ‘Removing Barriers, Realising Dreams’ highlights how the community can be more inclusive. The event venue, USS, is a natural choice, where all of its shopping and dining facilities are wheelchair accessible and many of its entertainment offerings cater to guests with disabilities. For example, certain attractions allow wheelchair-users to remain on their wheelchairs throughout the experience; or they have specific vehicles and seats that are designed to accommodate guests transferring from a wheelchair. Such disability-friendly structures designed from the start are good examples of accessible environments that empower people with disabilities to go about in their daily lives.
