NCSS Study Yield Insights for Social Service Sector to Enhance Caregiver Support

2 August 2022, Singapore – The 2018 Quality of Life (QOL) of Caregivers Study has resulted in the launch of several caregiving pilots in collaboration with community partners. The study reaffirmed that caregivers took pride in caring for their loved ones and understood the importance of their role. Caregivers also need a stronger support ecosystem to relieve some of their caregiving burdens and help them provide care more sustainably.

Appointment of New Board Members for the National Council of Social Service

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) announced key appointment holders to the Board of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS). In addition to the appointments made by the Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Masagos Zulkifli, other Board members were either elected at the NCSS Annual General Meeting held on 17 July 2024 or appointed by the President of the Board. All will serve a two-year term from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2026.

(NCSS)’s Sector Survey on Volunteer Management (VM) 2023 showed that close to 8 in 10
SSAs have put in place strong volunteer management infrastructure and processes resulting
in a 15% increase in regular volunteers in the sector, compared to when the study was first
conducted in 2021.
