Unauthorised use of NCSS logo to solicit funds in India

24 October 2019

It has come to our attention that there is an instance of unauthorised use of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) logo to solicit funds in India. We would like to alert the public that NCSS does not have any presence in India nor do we solicit funds in India. Anyone who suspects that he is involved in a potential fraud should lodge a police report. All collection of funds at public places in Singapore require a fund-raising permit issued by the Singapore Police Force or NCSS.

Members of the public can ask to check the Collector’s Certificate of Authority, which includes a QR code for validity checks. You can also send a query via SMS “FR ” to 79777, to check the authenticity, or make use of the Charities Unit’s fund raising permit search engine at  http://www.charities.gov.sg/Pages/Home.aspx
