Beyond SG60: Shifts Towards Sustained Giving Strengthen Social Services
15 April 2026
More individuals and corporates commit to regular giving to support communities in need during SG60
As of December 2025, over 270,000 Singapore residents were making regular donations, with SGSHARE contributions rising by nearly 19% compared to the previous year. In addition, members of the public carried out more than 19,000 acts of giving – totalling close to $2 million last year via the Giving.sg platform.
Encouragingly, these trends reflect a strong spirit of care among Singaporeans, strengthening the ecosystem of support for the social service sector.
Our corporate partners last year approached charitable giving with great rigour, focused on measurable impact and longer-term partnerships. This shift, alongside the increase in regular giving, allows our social service agencies (SSAs) to better plan, innovate, and deliver quality support to those in need.
To recognise the collective efforts of donors, volunteers and partners during SG60, Community Chest held the SG60 Appreciation Ceremony on 7 March 2026. At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong said philanthropy efforts are remarkable and encouraged generosity beyond SG60.

More than 3,000 volunteers packed close to 20,000 festive bags at the Community Chest Season of Blessings 2026.
The ceremony also featured a special exhibit and community fair for members of the public to learn more about causes supported by the Community Chest, how they can contribute, and understand how donations directly benefit SSAs and service users. SSAs present at the fair showcased their programmes and services, including Club HEAL, Suncare SG, and PERTAPIS Senior Citizens Fellowship Home.

DPM Gan also flagged off the distribution of Habuan Harapan bags to those in need across Singapore in celebration of Hari Raya. This was an extension of an earlier event in February, when Community Chest mobilised over 3,000 corporate and community volunteers to pack close to 20,000 festive bags with essential items for Chinese New Year and Hari Raya celebrations to seniors and families in need.
SG60 may have concluded, but the ‘We First’ spirit lives on. Community Chest will continue to engage individual and corporate donors in regular giving and foster partnerships to support and strengthen our SSAs in uplifting the lives of individuals and families in need.
