Strengthening caregiver communities

Overview

Caregiving is both a challenging and profoundly fulfilling journey. Within our community, NCSS provides extensive support and resources for both caregivers and care recipients. NCSS supports caregiver initiatives that aim to create a comprehensive support ecosystem for caregivers to strengthen the first and last mile support for caregivers.

WIN Caregivers Network

The WIN Caregivers Network is a peer support network rooted in the community, and a collaboration between NCSS, the People’s Association and Caregivers Alliance Limited. The network offers holistic support for caregivers, strengthening their connection to the resources available within the community.

Currently, the network caters to caregivers of persons with mental health needs in the areas of Henderson Dawson, Bukit Gombak, Hong Kah North, Tampines Central, Nee Soon East, Fengshan, Toa Payoh West-Thomson, Eunos, Chong Pang, Kampong Chai Chee and Boon Lay.

Vision

The goal of the WIN Caregivers Network is to actively reach out to caregivers and provide them training, and connect them to a supportive network of fellow caregivers and volunteers, eliminate any barriers that might hinder them from access to crucial services, and establish a sustainable network of support for caregivers within the community.

How to contribute

Caregivers looking after persons with mental health needs can reach out directly to Mindfull Community or reach out via email at che@mindfull.org.sg to be part of the network. Individuals keen to support our caregivers can contact andy_teo@pa.gov.sg.

Strengthen Caregiver Communities Playbook

Individuals keen to facilitate the building of a similar support network in their communities can refer to the Strengthening Caregiver Communities Playbook, which is developed through a collaborative effort between NCSS, Caregivers Alliance Limited, and People’s Association. The playbook consolidates best practices and insights from the pilot phase of the WIN Caregivers Network.
