Volunteer management
Volunteer management enables SSA growth by engaging leaders to recognise the strategic value of volunteers.

Overview
Volunteer management is key to driving an organisation’s growth by engaging leaders and board members of social service agencies (SSAs) to recognise the strategic value of volunteers. By highlighting the crucial role that volunteer managers play in advancing the organisation’s mission, this approach aims to secure the commitment of key decision-makers.
Through collaboration and shared understanding, SSAs can leverage effective volunteer management to create meaningful change, improve service delivery, and ultimately enhance the organisation’s overall impact.

International Volunteer Managers Day
Celebrated annually on November 5, this day honours the invaluable contributions of volunteer managers worldwide. Since 2020, NCSS has spearheaded a social media campaign to raise awareness about how volunteer managers lead organisations in optimising volunteer resources, enhancing service delivery, and driving organisational growth.
Our IVMD campaigns have garnered national attention, with various organisations—from social service agencies to nonprofits, public agencies, and grassroots initiatives—joining us in recognising their dedicated volunteer managers for their exceptional work and contributions.

SG Cares
Singapore Cares (SG Cares) is a national movement launched in 2017 to build a more caring and inclusive society for all. Championed by the SG Cares Office and co-led by NCSS and NVPC, the movement invites all Singaporeans and people who live in Singapore to put values into action through active volunteerism, ground-up efforts, and everyday acts of care.
A key initiative under the movement is the appointment of SG Cares Volunteer Centres (VCs) across the 24 towns in Singapore to match interested volunteers and contributors to community needs. The SG Cares Volunteer Centres provide a convenient way for Singaporeans to contribute as volunteers in their community, enabled by the SG Cares Community Networks. These networks include companies, social service organisations, schools, and grassroots organisations that collaborate and contribute to the community, making lasting changes in the lives of others and the causes that they believe in.
