Principal Occupational Therapist, Ren Ci Hospital
Ng Lip Chin is recognised for her leadership and transformative contributions to community care and rehabilitation services in Singapore. At Ren Ci Hospital, she has championed transdisciplinary practice, streamlining processes and enhancing team collaboration to deliver more efficient, person-centred care.
She led a comprehensive overhaul of assessment processes, enabling physiotherapists and occupational therapists to co-manage evaluations. This reduced delays, improved client satisfaction, and boosted staff productivity. Her efforts have not only enhanced outcomes at Ren Ci Hospital but also offer a scalable model for integrated care.
Lip Chin also elevated rehabilitation practices in nursing homes by developing and training Community Care Associates (CCAs) in the pilot run, encouraging staff to expand their competencies and deliver higher-quality care. Her forward-thinking mindset ensures her teams stay relevant amid evolving healthcare demands.
A passionate mentor, she is known for her thought-provoking guidance and commitment to developing junior occupational therapists. Her clinical leadership is matched by her dedication to sector development through contributions to national workgroups with Agency for Integrated Care and Ministry of Health.
She is the driving force behind Ren Ci's day care centre framework, incorporating mov-mentia principles into programme scheduling. This ensures holistic, structured care that addresses clients' physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and leisure needs. The framework has raised care standards, improved client well-being, and supported smoother onboarding for new staff.
Beyond clinical settings, Lip Chin is committed to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. As an Associate Faculty with Singapore Institute of Technology and Adjunct Lecturer with Temasek Polytechnic, she curates curriculum and provides real-world learning through internships. Her educational initiatives bridge academic learning with practical experience, deepening students' understanding of community care.
For her outstanding leadership, innovative service models, and dedication to education and mentorship, Lip Chin is awarded the Excellence Award 2025.
