Jena Lim
Jena's story: A mother who learned that seeking help isn't weakness, but strength. She now advocates for family support, encouraging others to ask for aid and offer it, building resilient communities one small gesture at a time.
Admitting her struggles in caring for her family is not a sign of weakness. Conversely, to Jena, it’s a bold step towards asking for help before burn-out kicks in. Thankfully, she has since learnt to lean in on the support of family, friends, even organisations, and that it’s okay to not have it all together.
“As a daughter and mother, there are many things I have to consider before making a decision—even something as simple as lunch. We’re all just doing our best. You’d never know what is really happening within a person, so why judge? Instead of assuming, it’s much easier to ask a family what kind of help they need. Even if it’s as small as offering encouragement, it can really make our day and help us feel less alone!”
This is what Jena champions—and you too, can play a part in building strong and resilient families.
