Justin Loo

Justin described what he had been feeling as pushing the boat forward while it was sinking. In essence, that felt like doom, dread, guilt and self-loathing. Those feelings remained a central part of him until he took the first brave step towards recovery by accepting professional help and peer support.

His healing journey led to his creating something meaningful: a safe, inclusive space at the Resilience Collective (RC), a partner of the Beyond The Label national programme supported by Community Chest. Here, individuals with mental health needs and caregivers find peer support, valuable resources and tools to build resilience. His journey from a man grappling with mental health struggles to a beacon of hope for others is a powerful reminder of the healing that comes when we dare to connect and support one another.

When we create safe and nurturing environments together, individuals with mental health needs can thrive. Let us continue supporting and empowering their journey to recovery.
